Preparing for Next Year’s Season
As summer shifts to fall and another art festival season winds down, Amdur Productions is already busy planning for 2027. Maximizing the festival experience for artists and visitors alike is always a priority, and that process starts with what we learn on the ground.
Every event we produce adds to decades of experience, insight, and continuous creative evolution. From tweaking festival layouts and improving food offerings to rethinking marketing strategies and casting a wider net for artist recruitment, we are constantly looking at what worked, what could work better, and what we can do next. Every adjustment —large or small—helps us build an even stronger foundation for the season ahead.

Marketing and Graphics
We market our festivals through a comprehensive, multi-layered approach designed to reach audiences wherever they are. Planning and coordinating these campaigns can be daunting, but our seasoned team is up to the task!
Traditional print advertising, posters, and direct mail blanket the neighborhoods, residences, and businesses surrounding each festival, while social media, digital marketing, and public relations extend our reach to a much broader audience.
Engaging with individual artists adds another layer, expanding our reach further. Each layer reinforces the others, building awareness and excitement as festival weekend approaches. And, of course, it never hurts to have on-point, killer visuals that make people stop, look, and want to be there!
Rising Costs
Looking ahead to 2027, rising festival production costs remain one of our greatest challenges. An increasing number of our festival partners now require costly barricade systems, protective equipment, and perimeter safety gates—all expenses that fall on us as producers.
Many municipalities are also requiring significantly increased event security, adding yet another substantial line item to already tight festival budgets. Our challenge is balancing these new realities while keeping artist fees as reasonable as possible.
As production and security costs rise, fewer dollars are available for marketing, making it more important than ever that we continually evaluate where and how we spend those dollars. We are constantly refining our marketing efforts to maximize their reach, effectiveness, and impact on every festival we produce.
Promotion Efforts
Some of the best promotions for our festivals come from the art itself. Festivals are always looking for great art images to use in promotions, and artists that invest in professional photography of their art are favored in marketing.
A tip for artists is to have your work professionally shot in a studio setting to increase the chance of your art being featured in festival marketing.
Behind Our Scenes
Teamwork is, by far, the most important element of a successful production. Amdur Productions is fortunate to have a team of consummate festival veterans who constantly think on their feet and adapt to the ever-changing demands of our industry.
Countless moving parts come together to create each festival, and it takes experience, collaboration, and a shared commitment to make it all work. At the heart of it all is the partnership between fantastic artists and an art-loving public—bringing them together is our goal every week!
We had a wildly successful 2026—record crowds, cooperative weather, and a deeply talented pool of artists for whom we are incredibly grateful! The art festival remains a quintessential part of the summer experience, and we continuously strive to make it the easy answer to that perennial question: What are you doing this weekend?
I am going to an art festival!
