What To Expect From Sunshine Artist
Sunshine Artist is the nation’s leading publication for art and craft show exhibitors, promoters and patrons. Since 1972, SA has been providing its readers with comprehensive reviews of everything from fine art fairs and festivals to small craft shows around the country, focusing on every aspect of the shows from sales to artist amenities to the quality of art or craft. We also include in each issue hundreds of art and craft show listings, including contact information, booth fees, application deadlines and the type of art/craft that the event accepts. Finally, in each issue you will find features on everything from tips to boost your business to in-depth reports on current trends on the show circuit.
REGULAR FEATURES:
EDITOR’S PAGE
As an introduction to each issue, Cameron Meier, SA editor, not only summarizes what you can expect from the current edition of the magazine but expands on a topic of interest related to the world of art.
STATE REPORTS & REVIEWS
SA features 30-50 reviews of art and craft shows from around the country in each issue. We have a team of about 50 reporters, from California to Massachusetts and from Montana to Florida, who exhibit at shows and then critique them for our magazine. We also include reviews compiled from the FastAudit surveys we receive from YOU — our readers.
LETTERS
We welcome letters to the editor on any subject related to art and/or craft shows.
QUICK TAKES
Our regular art and craft show reviews are either written by our reporters at the show or compiled from extensive FastAudits. However, we feel it’s important to occasionally feature reviews of the lesser-known fairs and festivals and that’s what Quick Takes allows us to do. These mini-reports are based upon just one or two FastAudits. It’s a way of giving all of our readers a voice.
NEWS BRIEFS
What’s the latest news in the world of art? This section keeps you up to date on items of interest that you might have missed.
BOOK REVIEWS
SA occasionally features reviews of the latest books related to the art and craft industry.
WINNERS’ CIRCLE
SA invites promoters to send us your lists of award winners from your most recent art festivals and craft shows so we can feature them in our Winners’ Circle. You may either fax us the information or e-mail it to editor@sunshineartist.com. Please include the full name of the winner, plus his/her hometown and medium.
OUR BACK PAGES
Every month, SA revisits topics that were the talk of the art-show circuit in the past, by featuring articles from our magazine 10 and 20 years ago.
